Testimony from a mighty man of God...

Hi I would like to tell you how our Lord JESUS CHRIST changed my life.

I was a owner of a strip and prostitution club since I was 16 years old. I was alot of other things, as was part of my life. I was an alcholic and a drug addict. Porn was a great part of my life and other addictions but then I met the Lord Jesus on the 17th of April 2010 at the Mighty Men Conference in Greytown, KwaZulu Natal.

I have been through many trials since then, but with the Lord JESUS CHRIST I have made it through all of them.Today I can tell you, I don't drink anymore, no drugs, no porn. Today I serve the LORD daily. He has healed my life.

I now do vehicle wholesale and finance and I am prospering everyday. To all who read this please turn to the Lord JESUS CHRIST. He will never leave you nor forsake you. If the LORD can do it for me, he can do it for you.

I PRAY MY STORY WILL HELP OTHERS. I PRAY FOR ALL OF YOU TO SEE JESUS GREATNESS.

I LOVE YOU ALL AND WISH TO VISIT YOU ALL SOMETIME AT SHALOM.

Dear Friends,
A very happy new year to each and every one of you!  We trust that this will be the best year of the rest of your lives!
What is your expectation this year?  We always seem to make new year's resolutions and sure as anything, before the first month is over we have broken most of them.  Why I ask that question is because we expect many things from those nearest and dearest to us and in actual fact that is very unfair because nobody can be expected to fulfil these expectations.  We put such great expectations on them that they are bound to fail.
My dear friend, the only person we should put our hope and expectations upon is the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone.  He is the one who has promised us that he will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).  One of my favourite scriptures is Psalm 62:5 which says, 'My soul wait thou only upon God for my expectation comes from Him alone'.
Over the festive season we all have great expectations of family gatherings and getting together and I know in the secular world that nine times out of ten they never come to fruition because somebody lets the show down, as it were, in one area or another.

Dear Friends,
I have had a directive from God, through the Holy Spirit, instructing me to cancel all the national soccer stadium campaigns for this year.  I feel that the Lord is instructing me that the time is not right, that the preparation for this awesome event is not sufficient and if we go ahead and not be sensitive to His command we will get ourselves into huge trouble and also miss His optimum presence and timing.
Please continue to pray for me and my family and especially the national and provincial committees.  Be assured of one thing, we are by no means throwing in the towel or giving up, what we are doing is organising ourselves in a much better way and to a greater capacity.
I have never been so challenged or so excited in my life!  The Lord has humbled me through this and I will be spending a lot more time in prayer and a lot less time speaking, as we see Him unfold in our beloved South Africa.  We need all the role players on board, all of them, from the man living in the squatter township to the head of our government and, by the grace of God, it is going to happen
God bless you,
Angus Buchan

Dear Friends

I greet you in the precious name of Jesus as the Christmas season is now very much upon us.  I can sense in my spirit that people are very tired and weary as they start to wind down after a very hectic and busy year in many cases.

I have a message burning on my heart that I need to share  with you.  While having my quiet time this morning I really believe that I have been visited very specially by the Holy Spirit in my heart.  It emanates from a precious reading out of a devotional I had just read.  In a nutshell what I believe God is saying to us is, just as the faithful servant looks to his master for direction and instruction, so you and I need to do that.  The writer speaks about the fact that once we take our eyes off our Master, then we start first of all to lose hope, secondly we start to lose vision and thirdly we start to lose courage to fulfil the call that God has put on each one of our lives, in whatever capacity that might be.  He speaks about a spiritual leakage which takes place when we take our eyes off the Lord and His specific mandate towards us.

Then of course we start to get those 'Job's comforters', who come alongside us and suggest that maybe we were aiming too high after all and maybe our vision was a bit too big for us.  As the days turn into weeks, months and maybe even years, we start to lose hope in the vision God has given us, our faith is replaced by fear and we start to think that maybe we were aiming a bit too high anyway.  We then start to pull back which is fatal and the devil takes over.  His sole objective, my dear friend, is to immobilise us by fear, just as the snake mesmerises the mouse into a state of paralysis and then promptly devours it.

This is not for us, we will not be of those who will turn back at the eleventh hour!  Like never before I really believe that we are poised on the brink of great revival, but it needs to start in our own hearts.  2 Tim.1:7 is very clear, 'God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind'.  We need to hang on to that.

Early this morning in the word of God I was reminded again of Ephesians 3:20, 'Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us ....'   Let you and I this Christmas season contemplate on what God is able to do through us, if we are willing to allow Him to.

Remember what we say at Shalom, 'If your vision doesn't scare you, it is not big enough!'  Another thing we say is that we must 'attempt something that is so big that if it is not of God it is doomed to fail'.  Why?  Because when it works people will not think that it is because of us, they will know that it is God and He will get all the glory that He so richly deserves.

May God bless you as you continue to walk a life of faith, remembering that 'faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen', Heb.11:1.

Yours in Christ

As we start this new year let us not put undue pressure on our families to achieve impossible goals, but rather put our hopes and desires in the right places.  Let us start becoming men and women of prayer.  Pray for your loved ones rather than burdening them with unreal goals which end up in failure and bad relationships.  Think the best of one another, speak a word of faith in season.  Encouragement is something that is so badly needed in these turbulent times in which we are living, especially amongst young people.  Tell them that they can do it, by the grace of God, but if they don't make it there is no condemnation at all and you still love and appreciate them for who they are.  Husbands, don't give your wives targets that are not humanly possible to achieve, love them for who they are and you will be surprised how they will come to the fore.  Wives, don't put unnecessary pressure on your husbands to produce and don't look over the fence and compare your lifestyle with 'the Jones's' because half of that is not true anyway.  We are very good at putting up facades and we need to be content with who we are and with what we have got.  The easiest way to do that is to get back to God, look to Him alone for your source of inspiration and comfort and for your future.
Look at 2012 with a positive outlook.  Our destiny is not determined by what we do or don't do.  It is not determined by the current flavour of the month when it comes to politics or even the economic market.  It is solely and purely in the hands of the living God.  He alone gives us the very breath that we breathe.  Let us be thankful and let us live each day at a time, putting our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, then all of a sudden we will find that this life is so exciting, so rewarding and there will be no pressure from us towards our loved ones and visa-versa.
Lastly, dont look back!  We thank God that we don't have to look back because it is gone, it is finished, it will never have to be lived again.  All our failures and all our successes are in God's hands.  Look forward, travel lightly and be available for whatever God calls you to and He will do the rest.  Remember that if God is for us, who can be against us, Rom.8:31.  He will be our expectation and He will not fail us, which is wonderful news!
God bless you as you start your new year with plenty of excitement and I am sure quite a bit of trepidation, not knowing what the future holds, but one thing we do know, we know who holds the future.  His name is Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world!
God bless you richly,Angus & Jill and the Shalom team
