My dear friends

As I write this letter to you my heart is full of thanksgiving and gratitude towards our Lord Jesus.  I really want to encourage you to use your faith (the faith which God has given you) to the fullest.  I was given a 25kg bag of mustard seed, imported from India, by a very dear anonymous brother at one of the past Mighty Men Conferences.  Recently I was given a whole lot of empty vaccine bottles from another brother who is a veterinarian.  I have been filling those little bottles with mustard seed and giving them out wherever I go, not as a lucky charm but as a reminder.  Matthew 21:21,22:  So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done.  And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."  (NKJV)

I can honestly tell you from the bottom of my heart that if you had to ask me to sum up my entire walk with Jesus from 1979 up to today in one sentence, I would say this: 'God always answers the prayer of faith'.

We have so many good things to share with you I don't know where to start, but I need to thank God for each one of you, for your love and support towards us in these perilous times in which we are living.  They are perilous times my dear friends for those who do not know Jesus Christ, but for those of us of the faith they are very exciting times because we can see the climax of the ages coming to pass.  Jesus is not coming soon, He is on His way and we need to be prepared for His coming!  We need to travel lightly, we need to owe no one anything, not man nor God, and we need to be ready at any time that He blows that trumpet.

I was very excited to be with a men's group called 'Ignite', in Johannesburg, South Africa, last Saturday.  These men are literally on fire for Jesus Christ!  It was such a blessing, the Holy Spirit came down in power and we saw many first time commitments from men who were unashamedly, publicly, acknowledging Jesus Christ.  I think that is so important.  We need to be born again, John 3:3.  We can do all the good works that we want to but, at the end of the day, unless a man gives his life to Jesus Christ, he is in a hopeless situation.  My recent visit to the Feast of the Tabernacles in Jerusalem confirmed that, when I heard David Pawson say that people pray for Israel, people send money, food and clothing to Israel, but people don't often tell Jews that they need to be born again.  I really want to exhort you, you can help people, you can do everything that would make them more comfortable in this life, but it is actually the life to come that is the most important issue!  If you really love somebody, you need to ensure that they will not only be comfortable now, but saved in the life to come.

From there, I was privileged to meet with Ps Reinhard Bonnke.  I thank God for one of my spiritual sons, Freddie van Rensburg, who was instrumental in arranging this meeting.  What a humble man, truly it was one of the highlights of this year for me to sit with him and to hear this man who has literally preached to millions of people at one time, encourage me as a fellow fisher of men.  I honestly feel that I am not even worthy to tie his shoelaces, however we were able to pray for each other and share a meal together and I really trust and pray that we will meet each other again in the future.

Friends, I really want you to pray for this man of God and for all the men and women of God that are being used throughout the world at the moment because the fight is intensifying!  If the evil one, Satan (the word means 'deceiver') can cause the men of God to trip up, he will do tremendous damage to the army of God.  While I am asking you to pray for Reinhard Bonnke, please don't forget David Pawson and also the Executive Director of the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (ICEJ), Dr Juergen Buehler.

As I write this letter I am getting ready for a very important meeting on Thursday where we are really believing that God is going to make a way for us to first of all get a slot on national television at prime time.  My agent in Johannesburg asked,' Angus are we going for gold?' and I replied 'Nothing less!'  We need to get the slot when the whole family is sitting in front of the television at 6.00 in the evening just before one of the well known 'soapies' is aired.  We will call the slot 'Mighty Men'  and it will be aimed mainly at informing young men what their role is, not only in the home but in the workplace and indeed in the nation.  We are so aware, not only in South Africa but all over the world, that there are many young men who are fatherless.  They may have an earthly father, but he is not performing his task and so they are orphans and as a result they are trying their level best to be men but they have no role models or mentors.  By the grace of God, we are going to try and address this deficiency.  Please pray for us for a miracle - to get the slot and then to sustain it in every way.

Grassroots, our program that is already on television, is picking up momentum wonderfully.  We are preparing six programs a week.  Our agent in Johannesburg has told us that ETV is now boasting more than 800,000 people watching Grassroots on a Sunday morning.  Wherever I go in airports and cities, it is mostly young, black people that are greeting me, so we praise God that we are touching men and women right across the nation!

We have a new devotional book about to be launched called 'Knowing Jesus' and I am really excited about that.  "The Mighty Men Story' will be coming out early next year.

As we come to the end of the year we thank God for an absolutely amazing time of blessing this year!  I think that you can agree with me, my dear friend, that there have been some fiery trials and we are not through it yet, but the Lord has promised us in Hebrews 13:5 that He will never leave us and He will never forsake us!
Thank you for your love continually poured out towards us here at Shalom Ministries.

Just to report to you about our Children's Home.  It is really doing so well and I thank God for my wife, Jill, who has stepped in and filled the gap for us.  The children are all growing up as you can imagine.  Khumbulani will be leaving school at the end of the year to join our other four boys, Daniel, Levit, Lungisani and Fanele, who have already gone ahead.  Jill and I were privileged to attend the Greytown High School Prizegiving ceremony last week and were delighted to see our eldest girl, Mancane, receive full colours for girl's soccer and hockey.  I really believe she will be playing provincial next year.  Bongani, one of the older boys who wants to be an actor one day participated in the choir and Sipho, who has been playing first team rugby for the last three years and wants to be a professional rugby player when he leaves school, also has his full colours for rugby.  This is what makes it all worthwhile.  Our library is nearly completed, thanks to Jill, and the clothes store and staff kitchen are fully operational.  Please keep us in your prayers because in times of hardship amongst the nations of the world it is always the orphans and the widows who seem to be forgotten.  We really thank you for your continued prayer and love towards our children.

I am preparing to fly to the Kalahari to speak at a Mighty Men Conference this weekend and we are really excited to see what God is going to do amongst the men.

May God bless you richly as you continue to serve Him and get ready to celebrate the greatest birthday in the history of the world, when the Lord Jesus Christ came down from heaven to a little place called Bethlehem for the sole purpose of helping you and me walk this road with Him.

Yours in Christ
Angus & Jill and all at Shalom Ministries and Beth-Hatlaim Children's Home

Baba Patrick Zondi holding Fafa and Sindi.

During these past holidays the boys from the home were helping Baba Patrick build new chicken houses for our chickens. The building is progressing nicely.

Sindi loves colouring in and learning new things on a daily basis

Sindi loves pantry time, whether it's helping take milk out of the deep freeze or just "chilling" on a bag of mielie meal.

The young children (Zak, Minenhle, Sfanelo & Sindi) have endless hours of fun and games together.
