Dear Friends

We greet you in Jesus precious name at this very exciting time in the history of the world.
Like never before, people are searching for the truth.  The scripture that comes to mind at the moment is Phil.4:6 which says, 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God'.

I have just returned from George in the Southern Cape.  I saw something I have never seen before in my life.  On a Tuesday afternoon, a working day, the whole town came to a standstill, from the Mayor's office right down to the school children.  They congregated at the Outeniqua Rugby Stadium.  There was in excess of 14000 people there, packed into the grandstands and on the field.  The announcer had to ask the crowd on the field to move closer to the platform to enable the people waiting outside to come in.  There is a tremendous need in people's lives today, like never before, to meet with God.

They came together to pray for rain.  That area is experiencing the worst drought in 135 years.  Although everything looks green, it is what they call a 'green drought', if you dig 2 inches under the ground, everything is bone dry.

But God is faithful!  Many of us are gripped in the middle of the recession, others are struggling and fighting with moral issues, relationship and health issues.  God has a word for us, He asks us 'what good has worry ever accomplished?'  A man by the name of Darlow Sargeant says 'it has never made anyone stronger, it has never helped anyone to do God's will, or provided for anyone a way of escape out of their anxiety or confusion.  Worry only destroys the effectiveness of lives that would otherwise be useful and beautiful'.

As we concluded that meeting, many, many souls, up to two-thirds of the crowd, made first time commitments publically in the sight of everyone and especially in the sight of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We then asked God to send us rain, first the spiritual and then the physical.  I believe that rain is on its way, a good steady soaking rain to get the streams and rivers running and to fill the dams.

I want to encourage you too, my friend, to pray that God would do the same in your life, first the spiritual and then the physical, that God would comfort you and that He would defend and deliver you, as He has always done in the past.  Speak to your soul today and say 'return to your place of peace and rest within the sweet embrace of the Lord Jesus Christ'.

Phil.4:7 says 'And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus'.

May God bless you richly.

Dear friends, greetings in Jesus name

It’s now just a matter of time. As they say in Afrikaans, ‘min dae’. For me personally, the time of waiting is the hardest always, so please pray for me. It’s like the old days when I used to play rugby, the hardest time was sitting in the change-room waiting to run out onto the field. Once the whistle had blown and the game got started, your nerves settled down and you got stuck in and enjoyed it, but that waiting part is the hardest. Please keep me and my family and the organizing team, especially Andy, my son, in your prayers. Things are going well, God is in full control and we are seeing breakthroughs everyday. As I talk to you now, we are right on course to believe God for a multitude of men to descend upon this place in just under three weeks time. The Scripture in Joel 3:14 is so true ‘multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision’ and that is exactly what’s happening. People are asking us, ‘Where to from here?’ We don’t have the answer but Jesus does. Our theme for this year’s Mighty Men Conference is, as you already know, ‘watchmen of the house.’ We are going to be challenged by the Holy Spirit to take our rightful place as prophet, priest and king, not only in our home but in our business and indeed in the nation, but we do need to unite, and that is why we need your prayers. We have a large contingent coming from all over the world, and we are excited about that, but mainly from South Africa. What really encourages me about these meetings is that they are men from every denomination that you can think of and that is a miracle in itself. So please, continue to pray for us as we pray for you. Thank you for your support which is so important at this time, for your love and most of all for your prayers.

On Monday last week I experienced something at the Greenpoint soccer stadium - a rapport with the people, an expectancy, an excitement and a hunger that I have never experienced before in all my 30 years of preaching. From the time I stood on the platform to the time we prayed the sinner’s prayer, the skis were open and I know that this is the time. John 4:35 says ‘Do not say there are 4 months and then the harvest but lift up your eyes and look, the fields are white unto harvest.’ Everywhere we go people are openly asking: ‘Where to from here?’ When I landed at the Cape Town airport I was so touched. The captain of the plane, when he made the announcement and thanked everybody for coming to Cape Town and flying with his airline, said, ‘We want to wish Angus Buchan and the team God’s rich blessings today as they dedicate the soccer stadium and the soccer world cup to the Lord Jesus Christ.’ At this point I would like to say that I really am grateful to the organizers of the event, especially Graham Power and Hardis, and many others for their excellent work.

After that I spoke live on TBN and the GOD channel to support them for getting the Gospel out. We thank God that there are men out there that are prepared to put everything on the line for the sake of the Gospel. It’s our responsibility to stand by them. I had the privilege of speaking in the Jesus Dome in Durban a couple of weeks ago and saw a full house, an amazing crowd of mostly South African Indians, which was awesome. We saw a huge harvest of souls, first time commitments, something we would never have seen 10 years ago. It’s because it’s revival time. Do not let anybody tell you that the revival is coming. I tell you the revival is here. Be careful that you don’t miss it. With the Hebrides revival in 1950, in the North West of Scotland, the Evangelical churches had been praying for revival for years. The revival came through the mainline churches. It came and went, and they still didn’t see it. There are none so blind as those who don’t want to see. Revival is here and we thank God for that, but let’s take full advantage if it.

I have a brand new book coming out in a couple weeks called Come of Age. I believe it will be a sequel to my book Faith Like Potatoes. People are already talking about making a movie of it and I am very excited for what God is going to do through it. We want to release it at the Mighty Men Conference, after which it will be available from the bookshops. Our TV broadcasts of Grassroots are doing so well. It’s so wonderful to have people from every culture, creed and racial group greet us wherever we go. I am really trusting the Lord for a big breakthrough in Soweto in the not to so distant future because we know, all of us, that the only hope that South Africa or, for that matter, the world has is Jesus Christ alone. He says, ‘If He be lifted up, He will draw all men unto Him’ (John 12:32). May God bless you. Have a very special Easter. I really pray that this year the Lord will be more real to you than He has ever been before. For me and my family it’s the most precious time on the Christian calendar. It’s a time when I remember what He did for me and for you. I like to withdraw, to spend time, especially on Good Friday, meditating and sitting in the presence of the Lord. Easter Sunday is awesome, it’s resurrection day but, as one mighty man of God said a long time ago, without the crucifixion there can be no resurrection. It’s all about the dying and living principle. Jesus always used Himself as a practical illustration of what He wants from us. In John 12:24 ‘Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies it abides alone, but if it dies it bears much fruit.’ As we continue to put the flesh down and start to walk in the Spirit, ‘We will have life abundantly’ (John 10:10).

God bless you
