Dear Friends

We greet you in Jesus precious name at this very exciting time in the history of the world.
Like never before, people are searching for the truth.  The scripture that comes to mind at the moment is Phil.4:6 which says, 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God'.

I have just returned from George in the Southern Cape.  I saw something I have never seen before in my life.  On a Tuesday afternoon, a working day, the whole town came to a standstill, from the Mayor's office right down to the school children.  They congregated at the Outeniqua Rugby Stadium.  There was in excess of 14000 people there, packed into the grandstands and on the field.  The announcer had to ask the crowd on the field to move closer to the platform to enable the people waiting outside to come in.  There is a tremendous need in people's lives today, like never before, to meet with God.

They came together to pray for rain.  That area is experiencing the worst drought in 135 years.  Although everything looks green, it is what they call a 'green drought', if you dig 2 inches under the ground, everything is bone dry.

But God is faithful!  Many of us are gripped in the middle of the recession, others are struggling and fighting with moral issues, relationship and health issues.  God has a word for us, He asks us 'what good has worry ever accomplished?'  A man by the name of Darlow Sargeant says 'it has never made anyone stronger, it has never helped anyone to do God's will, or provided for anyone a way of escape out of their anxiety or confusion.  Worry only destroys the effectiveness of lives that would otherwise be useful and beautiful'.

As we concluded that meeting, many, many souls, up to two-thirds of the crowd, made first time commitments publically in the sight of everyone and especially in the sight of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We then asked God to send us rain, first the spiritual and then the physical.  I believe that rain is on its way, a good steady soaking rain to get the streams and rivers running and to fill the dams.

I want to encourage you too, my friend, to pray that God would do the same in your life, first the spiritual and then the physical, that God would comfort you and that He would defend and deliver you, as He has always done in the past.  Speak to your soul today and say 'return to your place of peace and rest within the sweet embrace of the Lord Jesus Christ'.

Phil.4:7 says 'And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus'.

May God bless you richly.

Dear Friends

Greetings in Jesus name.  Once again we are back on the road, after having fully recovered from the trip to England and indeed the wonderful meeting we had in Amanzimtoti, where we saw many souls come to Christ for the first time.  We are now aiming at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg and we are very excited!  Please pray for us that God will send the people, especially at this time when people are trying to cut back on everything.  We pray that the one thing they will not cut back on is the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The organisers have made available thousands of tickets for the poorer folk in our nation to attend the meeting.  We believe that the Bafokeng royal family will be attending and are encouraging their folk to come as well.  It is going to be a wonderful opportunity for the power of God to move.  If you are within striking distance of Rustenburg, please come and support us, we really would appreciate that!

It is with great joy that I can also report to you that I am working on a new book called 'Come of Age' which God prompted me to write just after the amazing experience we had at the MMC this year.  I am very excited about it and trusting that it is going to be a good sequel to 'Faith like Potatoes'.

Just to report to you that the 'Grassroots' programs are flying!  We are receiving wonderful response from all over the globe.  In fact, last Sunday a young gentleman who comes from the kingdom of Butan, which is up in the Himalayas, told us that his family are watching Grassroots every Saturday morning in Butan.  We are getting reports from many different parts of the world.  We thank God for the tremendous opportunity and privilege that He has given us.

Lastly, in my trip to the UK I was so proud to be a South African when I saw the passion, excitement and the effort that South Africans go to to get people saved and of course those 12 special marriages that took place, some of them South African couples.  I  will never forget that day!

We thank God for what he is doing in our beloved Soputh Africa.  Keep your eye on the ball, as they say - this recession will pass us very soon but in the meantime we will continue to trust in our Lord.  In closing, I think of that scripture Ps.20:7 'some trust in chariots, some in horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God'.  We walk by faith and not by sight.  This is the time when the people of faith have got to rise up and show the world that we are different, attempting great things for God and expecting great things from God.

Yours in Christ's service
