Dear Friends

We greet you in Jesus precious name at this very exciting time in the history of the world.
Like never before, people are searching for the truth.  The scripture that comes to mind at the moment is Phil.4:6 which says, 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God'.

I have just returned from George in the Southern Cape.  I saw something I have never seen before in my life.  On a Tuesday afternoon, a working day, the whole town came to a standstill, from the Mayor's office right down to the school children.  They congregated at the Outeniqua Rugby Stadium.  There was in excess of 14000 people there, packed into the grandstands and on the field.  The announcer had to ask the crowd on the field to move closer to the platform to enable the people waiting outside to come in.  There is a tremendous need in people's lives today, like never before, to meet with God.

They came together to pray for rain.  That area is experiencing the worst drought in 135 years.  Although everything looks green, it is what they call a 'green drought', if you dig 2 inches under the ground, everything is bone dry.

But God is faithful!  Many of us are gripped in the middle of the recession, others are struggling and fighting with moral issues, relationship and health issues.  God has a word for us, He asks us 'what good has worry ever accomplished?'  A man by the name of Darlow Sargeant says 'it has never made anyone stronger, it has never helped anyone to do God's will, or provided for anyone a way of escape out of their anxiety or confusion.  Worry only destroys the effectiveness of lives that would otherwise be useful and beautiful'.

As we concluded that meeting, many, many souls, up to two-thirds of the crowd, made first time commitments publically in the sight of everyone and especially in the sight of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We then asked God to send us rain, first the spiritual and then the physical.  I believe that rain is on its way, a good steady soaking rain to get the streams and rivers running and to fill the dams.

I want to encourage you too, my friend, to pray that God would do the same in your life, first the spiritual and then the physical, that God would comfort you and that He would defend and deliver you, as He has always done in the past.  Speak to your soul today and say 'return to your place of peace and rest within the sweet embrace of the Lord Jesus Christ'.

Phil.4:7 says 'And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus'.

May God bless you richly.

Dear Friends

I greet you in Jesus precious name.  A very special word that the Lord has laid on my heart to encourage us at this time is Psalm 42:5, 'Why are you cast down, O my soul?  And why are you disquieted within me?  Hope in God, for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.' (NKJV)

In this beautiful psalm, the psalmist says three times, speaking to himself,  'why are you cast down O my soul?'  This is speaking to your inner man.  Why are you cast down?

I have just returned from Somerset East in the Eastern Cape.  They are gripped in a drought, some parts have not had decent rain for a number of years.  We spoke at the 140th anniversary of Gill College.  It was an amazing event!  They had set up a platform on the back of a trailer (which made me feel at home) on the rugby field.  There was a huge crowd, I didn't realise that there were that many people in that area!  This is the verse that God gave me to encourage them with.  It was not the message that I had prepared, as usual I had to put that aside.  The Lord told me to encourage the people to lift themselves up and to take their eyes off their circumstances and focus on Him.  This is what He would say to you and me today.  This is not a time to become introverts.  It is a time to keep our eyes on Jesus and to walk by faith and not by sight, 2Cor.5:7.  At the end of the meeting, I made the altarcall and asked people who had made first time commitments to come forward.  I was absolutely amazed - literally hundreds come to the front, with much brokenness, weeping and tears.  We then prayed for the sick and are believing for many good reports of signs, wonders and miracles following.  We also prayed for rain and decided that we would not ask God for the rain again as His ears are not thick and His arm is not short that He cannot save.  From today onwards we are going to thank Him for the rain that is on its way.  It was an amazing meeting and we thank God for what he is doing all over this beautiful nation of ours.

Many people have asked me 'where to from here?' seeing that MMC 2010 is the last at Shalom and the answer is very simple.  God is doing this, it is His program, His agenda, His movement, He is doing it.  As we left Somerset East to go to Hendrik & Noeleen Putter's beautiful farm in the Great Karoo, we drove for maybe half and hour and right in the middle of nowhere there was a little church, built just down the road from a farmhouse, and there were 60-80 cars parked there.  Apparently they were having a Men's Conference.  Men are meeting all over this nation and indeed the world.  They are  praying for their loved ones, their wives, children and families.

Yesterday was Women's Day and we thank God for every single woman, for their uniqueness and for the beauty that God has created within them.  We as men remain committed to loving them, protecting them and running our homes in a godly manner, with them.

On Saturday 15 August 2-4pm we will be holding another campaign at Vodacom Park, Bloemfontein.  If you are in that vicinity we ask that you please come and support us.  We really want to make a stand in South Africa, we want the world to know that this country is a Christian country.  If you cannot get there, please pray for us - prayer is more important to us than anything.  Please pray for the music team and the sound system and for all the organisers that have been working hard for months.  I am really believing that God is going to do a sovereign work there amongst individuals and families.  We will be praying first and foremost for salvation and also for the sick.  Our main objective in coming to Bloemfontein is to remind every person that Jesus Christ is still in full control of their lives and of this nation.

We witnessed a wonderful move of God last month at the Royal Bafokeng stadium in Rustenburg.  We thank God for the organising team and all the local churches which participated.  Many lives were touched and again there were many first time commitments and recommitments.  In the middle of the message a sudden wind blew through the stadium and I believe this was a manifestation of the Holy Spirit.  The following week the local prosecutors office was in disarray as people arrived wanting to drop charges and reconcile with one another.  This is indeed the fruit of revival.

May God bless you as you continue to bring in the harvest.  Remember the Lord said in Mark 1:15, 'The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand.  Repent, and believe in the gospel.'

Yours in Christ's service
