Dear Friends

We greet you in Jesus precious name at this very exciting time in the history of the world.
Like never before, people are searching for the truth.  The scripture that comes to mind at the moment is Phil.4:6 which says, 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God'.

I have just returned from George in the Southern Cape.  I saw something I have never seen before in my life.  On a Tuesday afternoon, a working day, the whole town came to a standstill, from the Mayor's office right down to the school children.  They congregated at the Outeniqua Rugby Stadium.  There was in excess of 14000 people there, packed into the grandstands and on the field.  The announcer had to ask the crowd on the field to move closer to the platform to enable the people waiting outside to come in.  There is a tremendous need in people's lives today, like never before, to meet with God.

They came together to pray for rain.  That area is experiencing the worst drought in 135 years.  Although everything looks green, it is what they call a 'green drought', if you dig 2 inches under the ground, everything is bone dry.

But God is faithful!  Many of us are gripped in the middle of the recession, others are struggling and fighting with moral issues, relationship and health issues.  God has a word for us, He asks us 'what good has worry ever accomplished?'  A man by the name of Darlow Sargeant says 'it has never made anyone stronger, it has never helped anyone to do God's will, or provided for anyone a way of escape out of their anxiety or confusion.  Worry only destroys the effectiveness of lives that would otherwise be useful and beautiful'.

As we concluded that meeting, many, many souls, up to two-thirds of the crowd, made first time commitments publically in the sight of everyone and especially in the sight of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We then asked God to send us rain, first the spiritual and then the physical.  I believe that rain is on its way, a good steady soaking rain to get the streams and rivers running and to fill the dams.

I want to encourage you too, my friend, to pray that God would do the same in your life, first the spiritual and then the physical, that God would comfort you and that He would defend and deliver you, as He has always done in the past.  Speak to your soul today and say 'return to your place of peace and rest within the sweet embrace of the Lord Jesus Christ'.

Phil.4:7 says 'And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus'.

May God bless you richly.

Dear Friends

I greet you in Jesus precious name.  I am sitting in a beach cottage overlooking the beautiful blue Indian ocean.  The waves are gently falling against the rocks and God is just showing me again through this beautiful sight that He is faithful and true.

I return back from a very special rest with Jill in a couple of days time to get back into the fight, as it were.  I really want to exhort you, my dear friends, not to allow the pressures of this world to deter you in any way from keeping your priorities in order.  As I look over the sea from the sundeck of this home, lent to Jill and I by some very special Christian friends, I have my Bible open at the last page of the New Testament, the last page of Revelation, chapter 22:20,21.  It says:  'He who testifies to these things says, 'surely I am coming quickly'.  Amen.  Come Lord Jesus!  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen'.  I have written in black ink at the bottom corner of the page - 'keep short accounts with men and God, for the time is now very short'.

Dear Brethren

Greetings in Jesus precious name.  As I am writing this letter I am looking at the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3 and the subtitle in my Bible, the NKJV, says: 'Everything has it's time'.  As we know, the first eight verses of Ecclesiastes 3 speak about seasons and times.  Verse 1 says 'to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven, verse 2 says ' a time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, a time to pluck what is planted', and then it continues.  I can honestly say to you that for me a new season has been birthed.

Oom Angus had a good heart-to-heart with all the men here at MMC'09 in this morning's session and inspired us all to 'get back to the basics' with Jesus Christ!  As he explained you can expect to be challenged along the way, you'll have to take some strain but STICK TO IT!  He was SO excited to share his heart and experiences that he even did several push-ups on stage and then continued to have a good sprint across the stage.  All of this in the heat of the day!  You GO Oom Angus!
