Dear Friends

We greet you in Jesus precious name at this very exciting time in the history of the world.
Like never before, people are searching for the truth.  The scripture that comes to mind at the moment is Phil.4:6 which says, 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God'.

I have just returned from George in the Southern Cape.  I saw something I have never seen before in my life.  On a Tuesday afternoon, a working day, the whole town came to a standstill, from the Mayor's office right down to the school children.  They congregated at the Outeniqua Rugby Stadium.  There was in excess of 14000 people there, packed into the grandstands and on the field.  The announcer had to ask the crowd on the field to move closer to the platform to enable the people waiting outside to come in.  There is a tremendous need in people's lives today, like never before, to meet with God.

They came together to pray for rain.  That area is experiencing the worst drought in 135 years.  Although everything looks green, it is what they call a 'green drought', if you dig 2 inches under the ground, everything is bone dry.

But God is faithful!  Many of us are gripped in the middle of the recession, others are struggling and fighting with moral issues, relationship and health issues.  God has a word for us, He asks us 'what good has worry ever accomplished?'  A man by the name of Darlow Sargeant says 'it has never made anyone stronger, it has never helped anyone to do God's will, or provided for anyone a way of escape out of their anxiety or confusion.  Worry only destroys the effectiveness of lives that would otherwise be useful and beautiful'.

As we concluded that meeting, many, many souls, up to two-thirds of the crowd, made first time commitments publically in the sight of everyone and especially in the sight of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We then asked God to send us rain, first the spiritual and then the physical.  I believe that rain is on its way, a good steady soaking rain to get the streams and rivers running and to fill the dams.

I want to encourage you too, my friend, to pray that God would do the same in your life, first the spiritual and then the physical, that God would comfort you and that He would defend and deliver you, as He has always done in the past.  Speak to your soul today and say 'return to your place of peace and rest within the sweet embrace of the Lord Jesus Christ'.

Phil.4:7 says 'And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus'.

May God bless you richly.

Dear Friends

I greet you in Jesus precious name.  A very special word that the Lord has laid on my heart to encourage us at this time is Psalm 42:5, 'Why are you cast down, O my soul?  And why are you disquieted within me?  Hope in God, for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.' (NKJV)

In this beautiful psalm, the psalmist says three times, speaking to himself,  'why are you cast down O my soul?'  This is speaking to your inner man.  Why are you cast down?

I have just returned from Somerset East in the Eastern Cape.  They are gripped in a drought, some parts have not had decent rain for a number of years.  We spoke at the 140th anniversary of Gill College.  It was an amazing event!  They had set up a platform on the back of a trailer (which made me feel at home) on the rugby field.  There was a huge crowd, I didn't realise that there were that many people in that area!  This is the verse that God gave me to encourage them with.  It was not the message that I had prepared, as usual I had to put that aside.  The Lord told me to encourage the people to lift themselves up and to take their eyes off their circumstances and focus on Him.  This is what He would say to you and me today.  This is not a time to become introverts.  It is a time to keep our eyes on Jesus and to walk by faith and not by sight, 2Cor.5:7.  At the end of the meeting, I made the altarcall and asked people who had made first time commitments to come forward.  I was absolutely amazed - literally hundreds come to the front, with much brokenness, weeping and tears.  We then prayed for the sick and are believing for many good reports of signs, wonders and miracles following.  We also prayed for rain and decided that we would not ask God for the rain again as His ears are not thick and His arm is not short that He cannot save.  From today onwards we are going to thank Him for the rain that is on its way.  It was an amazing meeting and we thank God for what he is doing all over this beautiful nation of ours.

Dear Friends

Greetings in Jesus name.  Once again we are back on the road, after having fully recovered from the trip to England and indeed the wonderful meeting we had in Amanzimtoti, where we saw many souls come to Christ for the first time.  We are now aiming at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg and we are very excited!  Please pray for us that God will send the people, especially at this time when people are trying to cut back on everything.  We pray that the one thing they will not cut back on is the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The organisers have made available thousands of tickets for the poorer folk in our nation to attend the meeting.  We believe that the Bafokeng royal family will be attending and are encouraging their folk to come as well.  It is going to be a wonderful opportunity for the power of God to move.  If you are within striking distance of Rustenburg, please come and support us, we really would appreciate that!

Dear Brethren

John Wesley said the definition of revival is 'a people saturated with God'.  I have just returned from John Wesley's country, from England, and that is exactly what we experienced.  First and foremost the devil just did not want us to get there.  I have never had so many obstructions in my life, from not being able to get a visa and then getting the visa, a special one as well, to boarding an aeroplane, getting halfway to Johannnesburg and then having to turn back because of engine problems and eventually almost missing our connecting flight to England, but once we got there we understood why.  There had been so much prayer put into that Men's Conference in Worcester at David and Di Harper's Top Barn farm.  There were approximately 2500 men there, 800 of them South Africans - what a pleasure - I am so proud to be a South African!  Many men dug deep into their own pockets in this time of recession and paid for their airfares just to come and support us.  There were men from Namibia, from South Africa and all over the United Kingdom and the Lord met us in a very special way.  The gist of the whole weekend was obviously aimed at family relationships and principles but on a point of holiness.  If we look at Hebrews 12:14 it says 'without holiness no man shall see the Lord'.  That is exactly what happened.
